If you’re wondering whether MSI is up to something especially since it has been pretty quite lately, despite the noise being created by Asus and Acer with their 11.6-inch Eee PC and Aspire One netbooks respectively. Well, finally here’s what MSI is up to these past few days – the MSI Wind U200.

Our friends at Blogeee.net were lucky enough to have an advanced peek into the U200. It is not yet clear whether this machine would have the Wind branding, although having the “U” follows that it is an upgrade of lower Wind U series netbooks.

But the thing is, the U200 is equipped with a 12-inch display. Plus other features that you don’t normally see in a netbook. These include – Celeron ULV 723, HDMI/VGA/ USB.20 ports, HDCP capability, Intel GS45 certifies GMA 4500MHD (Blu-ray capable), multi-card reader, 6-cell battery, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, WiFi, and Bluetooth.

The MSI U200 is expected to retail for around – 469 Euro. No words yet on release date however.

Is it an MSI Wind? Or just one of MSI’s regular laptop? Engadget Chinese received some information re this new MSI Wind netbook called U200.  And aside from a bigger 12-inch LED -backlit display with 1366×768 resolution, this MSI netbook seems pretty much packed with features and specs. Some of these include CULV-based processor, GMA 4500M integrated graphics, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Wi-Fi, 3-cell battery (what?!) and weighs in at 3 pounds.

Those specs are certainly impressive except for the 3-cell battery. But you can always upgrade that to a more powerful one although it would have been nice if a 6-cell battery is the default configuration. However it might shoot up the already stiff price of this new MSI machine, which is said to be something around $700.

Alright folks, that is certainly too much for this MSI machine to be categorized as a netbook right?
