The lucky guys over at PortableMonkey have gotten hold of the latest netbook offering from MSI, the Wind U123 in white. They’ve taken photos of the various stages on unboxing which you can view after the jump.
First impressions of the U123, is that it looks very similar to the U120, but inside is a different story. The U123 comes with the newer processor from Intel, the N280, while the U120 has the regular N270 CPU. The RAM can also be upgraded on this new model, but like the U120, there aren’t any access panels to actually do this. The bottom casing can be unscrewed easily though to upgrade your RAM, but Liliputing note that this will actually void the warranty.

We all know that MSI is releasing the new Wind U123 netbook equipped with a 3G capability. But what we didn’t know is the fact that the U123 is actually a series of netbooks and shall consist of the U123, U123H and U123T. So how are these netbooks different from one another?
Not much difference actually in terms of specs and features. The there MSI Wind U123 will have the following specs:
- Intel Atom N280 Processor 1.6GHz
- 945GSE +ICH-M Chipset
- UMA Graphics card
- 1GB RAM
- 10-inch LED LCD
- 80/120/160GB HDD
- 4-in-1 card reader
- 3-cell battery (6-cell option)

But aside from these specs, the MSI Wind U123T will have a built-in TV Tuner, while the Wind U123H is the model which will have the 3.5G HSDPA feature.

MSI Japan has officially announced its latest netbook – the MSI Wind U123. The Japanese MSI Site has already put up a product page for the said netbook. And words from the streets say that it will be available in the Japanese market in two weeks time.
This really got me pretty excited because I’m planning to get a new netbook as a replacement for my old Eee PC 701. Now, I’ve I’ve got another choice on what netbook to get as soon as all of them becomes available in our area.
Anyway, the MSI Wind U123 will have the following specs:

The MSI Wind U100 has proved to be a very popular machine, with many, many clones about. The MSI Wind U120 also proved to be very popular MSI aren’t stopping there. April will see the release of the next MSI Wind model, the U123.
With the U123, users will be able to upgrade the RAM to 2GB, which isn’t possible on the U120. The netbook will also make use of the latest Intel Atom processor, opting for the N280 instead of the N270. Battery wise, instead of the more traditional 6 cell battery upgrade, that will come as standard, with a 9 cell battery option being available.
The MSI Wind U123 will be available in four colors, the traditional black or white, as well as burgundy red or blue. As of yet there’s no word on pricing information, so we’ll have to wait until nearer the time.
