While there may still be no sign of the MSI Wind U200 in the US, the netbook/CULV PC is making it’s way to a few European websites. We first saw the CULV netbook available for pre-order from Notebook.de a few weeks back. At the time there was no specific release date, apart from an availability of “3-4 weeks”. The website also didn’t provide a definite price, but was estimated at €629.

The MSI Wind U200 is now available to purchase from Notebook.de at a lower price than expected. The netbook is available for €599. The netbook is also available on Amazon.de for €611.22.

For a real bargain though, Blogeee are reporting that LDLC.com have the netbook listed for much less. From LDLC the netbook is more than 100 Euros less at €479.95.

MSI Wind U200 available in Europe

The MSI Wind U210 teeters on the edge of netbook with it’s 12 inch display and 1366 x 768 resolution. It also features ATI Mobility Radeon X1250 graphics, along with an AMD Neo MV-40 processor, 1GB or 2GB of RAM and either a 160GB hard drive or 250GB. With the higher specs the netbook can also run Windows Vista and will be available with Vista Home Premium, or XP Home.

Unboxing video of MSI Wind U120

It wasn’t long ago, that we reported on MSI discontinuing the hybrid netbook, the MSI Wind U115. Using both an SSD and HDD, Microsoft requested that the company cease production of the netbook, most probably due to Microsoft Windows XP operating limitations. The Dell Inspiron Mini 12 is another example, mysteriously removed from the Dell website . When Windows 7 is released, only netbooks with a display of up to 10.2 inches, will be given the cheaper version of Windows 7, while anything above that, while still a netbook, notebook licensing will be charged.

There’s also other netbooks, which due to the licensing limitations from Microsoft are going down and not as successful as they could be. Archos 10 features a 500GB HDD and 2GB, which is above the maximum of 160GB HDD and 1GB of RAM, so the higher spec model is only available with Ubuntu. This is also the case with the Dell Mini 9 with 2GB of RAM, Windows XP can not be run on it, only the 1GB model.

The final netbook which broke Microsoft’s rule, is the Everun Note. From the outside, looks like a typical netbook, 7 inch display. But inside it packs a dual core processor, where as Microsoft view netbooks as having single core CPUs. The netbook is available for $599 but it doesn’t include any operating system, which is where the netbook gets even pricier.

Microsoft crush netbooks with XP limitations

The impressive upgrade to the MSI Wind U100, the U200 will begin shipping in 3 to 4 weeks time. The netbook improves on features found in the U100 and falls into the CULV category. The CULV netbook features a 12 inch display, an impressive 120GB HDD and an even more impressive 4GB of RAM, much more than many laptops on sale. Notebook.de are already listing the U200 for pre-order and is due to ship within the next 3-4 weeks. Pricing is at €629, about $906.

MSI Wind U200 to begin shipping next month

From the end of July, MSI will stop producing the U115 by request of Microsoft. Whether any more will be produced before then, Richard Stewart, UK Marketing Manager for MSI didn’t specify, except that production will cease at the end of July. So if you haven’t picked the hybrid netbook up yet and it appeals to you, nows the time before it’s too late and becomes a high priced ebay item.

MSI X-Slim X320 now shipping in the US

The recently announced MSI Wind U115 Hybrid netbook has already seen a release in China with a UK launch to follow in May. The netbook has also been released to the lucky folks in France and ranges in price from 549 to 559 Euros ($711-$724). Material.net is the most expensive to order the U115 from, with it priced at 559 Euros. At Rue du Commerce you can pick the netbook up for 554 Euros. But the cheapest site to purchase from currently, is Topachat who are selling the hybrid MSI Wind netbook for 549.90 Euros.

All three sites have the netbook in stock and available for shipping. The UK won’t see the release until May and the US is still to receive a release date.

MSI Wind U115 launchs in France

The MSI Wind U100 PLUS will be available in the usual white, black and red colors, and this time it can also be bought in Rose Champagne (pink) and Metallic Blue. MSI didn’t announce this netbook’s official release date and price, but it does look interesting for now (if you don’t already have an MSI Wind or similar netbook model, that is).

MSI Wind U100 PLUS makes an official appearance with Intel’s N280 Atom processor

The lucky guys over at PortableMonkey have gotten hold of the latest netbook offering from MSI, the Wind U123 in white. They’ve taken photos of the various stages on unboxing which you can view after the jump.

First impressions of the U123, is that it looks very similar to the U120, but inside is a different story. The U123 comes with the newer processor from Intel, the N280, while the U120 has the regular N270 CPU. The RAM can also be upgraded on this new model, but like the U120, there aren’t any access panels to actually do this. The bottom casing can be unscrewed easily though to upgrade your RAM, but Liliputing note that this will actually void the warranty.
