Was watching Sony VAIO X’s promo video which was posted in YouTube. All I can say is that this video really does the trick – that is of presenting an elegant netbook which Sony is marketing as an ultra thin machine. The video was done with taste. Even the background music was nicely choosen.

Then I remembered Nokia’s launch video for its 3G Booklet netbook. Nokia’s take is more on the functionality and features of the netbook. The video was done well, focusing on the great features of the Nokia 3G Booklet.

Here are the two videos were talking about:

So after watching these two promotional videos, which would you rather get – the Nokia 3G Booklet or the Sony VAIO X? I would go for the Nokia 3G Booklet of course, because after watching the video, I’ve learned that has more goodies than the Sony Vaio X.

How about you? Which of the two videos convinced you to consider buying?

The Nokia Blog is running a hands-on and first impressions post for the Nokia 3G Booklet. And like what I’ve observed just by looking at the official photos, the 3G Booklet does indeed looks a lot like the MacBook Pro. In terms of battery and keyboard feel, one could easily mistaken the Nokia 3G Booklet as a 10-inch version of the MacBook Pro.Unfortunately it is not and it will never be. And boy how I wish it’s got the white apple logo on its back.

The Nokia Blog post also mentioned about the nice feel of the 3G Booklet’s keyboard as well as the extent by which you can tilt the netbook’s display backwards.

So, what do you think? Is the price of the Nokia 3G Booklet is worthy of the 12-hour battery life and almost a-Mac look and feel?

Aside from the 12-hour battery life, A-GPS, mobile connectivity features and other rare features of the 3G Booklet, we now know that Nokia’s netbook will be available in three colors – black, white and blue.

No release date yet for the 3G Booklet, but pricing was confimed to be somewhere around 570 Euros.

I admit that I’m one of those who got pretty excited when Nokia announced its 3G Booklet. Nokia is well known for releasing highly affordable mobile phones so I was hoping that it would price its netbook rather competitively especially since the netbook market is already saturated with el cheapo netbooks.

But if Sascha of Netbooknews.de, who is citing reliable sources, the Nokia 3G Booklet may be priced around $799. What?! You got to be kidding me. Somebody has to tell Nokia that one of the characteristic of a netbook that made it big is its affordable price. Pricing their netbook at such a high price will not do them any good. Especially since they are coming too late into the game.

Even if the specs published by All Symbians are all true, the $799 price is still not worth it. You can practically buy two cheap netbooks to have the promised 12 hour battery life of the Nokia 3G Booklet.

Intel Atom Chipset (Z530 running at 1.6 Ghz). No fan, which means near silent running.

120 GB hard disk

3G / HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, plus integrated Bluetooth for local wireless communication

12 hour battery life

19.9 mm thick x 264 mm width x 185 mm depth

10.1 inch glass HD ready display

Front facing video camera mounted, on top of the screen, for video calling

1 x HDMI port (for HD video out), 1 x integarted SD card reader, 3 x USB ports, 1 x audio port

Integrated A-GPS

Stereo speakers mounted on the front right and left corners
