Samsung couldn’t wait for their press conference at the on-going IFA 2009 and announced their newest netbook line up – the Samsung N130, N140 and N510. These netbooks differ in the sizes of the LCD, battery life as well as weight.
The Samsung N140 boasts of an 11-hour battery life and will most likely be equiped with Intel processor. The N510 on the other hand features a 16:9, 11.6-inch display and will be running Nvidia Ion Graphics. Both the N130 and N140 will have 10.1-inch display. In addition, the Samsung N130 seems to be the lightest of these three new Samsung netbooks, weighing only 1.26kg.
Design-wise, these netbooks will retain the same glossy finish as the previous Samsung netbooks and will be available in black, white, sea blue and peach pink colors.
Samsung N130, N140 and N510 will be available sometime in September. No words on pricing yet.

While the IdeaPad S12 from Lenovo is available already with an Intel Atom processor in the US and Europe, with the US also able to purchase the netbook with a VIA Nano processor, we’ve yet to see the NVIDIA ION powered model. It was touted to be the first netbook using NVIDIA ION, but Samsung could possibly release the N510, which also uses NVIDIA ION, before Lenovo do, as we’ve already seen photos of the netbook next to the NC10.
The delay in release is because instead of shipping with Windows Vista, the company are holding off until Windows 7 is released and will ship with that sometime in October. Samsung will also be doing the same with the N510, so it really will be a race then, to see who can get their NVIDIA ION netbook out first. When it is released, it will retail for $550, making it only $50 than the Intel Atom model.

Over at NetbookNews.de one of their lucky readers has received the new Samsung N510 which is not considered a netbook, but rather part of the CULV movement. Specs of the N510 are quite similar to what you would find on a netbook, apart from the screen size and using NVidia ION technology. The Samsung N510 features an 11.6 inch display, along with 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, Intel Atom N270 CPU along with built in WiFi, Bluetooth and a web camera. One other small feature you won’t find on many netbooks, is the N510 features one HDMI port as well as three USB ports. With the larger display also brings a larger resolution of 1366 x 768.
Joerg has unboxed the Samsung N510 with photos and shown it in many different angles. But not only that, the N510 has been put along side Samsung’s popular netbook the NC10.
When looking at the two machines while closed, there doesn’t seem to be much of a difference, but when the devices are opened up the difference is size is clear. The keyboard spreads out a bit and makes use of the extra chassis size. The trackpad is also considerably bigger than that of the NC10, but still small in comparison to notebooks. You can view the rest of the photos after the jump.

Liliputing is reporting that Samsung has confirmed that arrival of its NVIDIA ION powered netbook, the N510. Project shipment date is sometime in in September and the netbook will get a price tag of $599. Yup, a little expensive compared to other 10-inch netbooks available in the market today. But hey, that’s what it cost to have netbook with extra features that others don’t have, right?
And what are these extra features? NVIDIA ION platform with NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor that can effectively handle HD video and is capable of playing Blu-ray Disc.
So, if you are holding back on your plans on buying a new netbook, you might want to wait up for Samsung’s delivery of the N510 netbook. At least, it has something different up its sleeves.
