We recently reported that the very popular NC10 by Samsung had been spotted for 299 Euros, down from 375 Euros. This time round, it’s the UK’s turn to see the netbook reduced.

Originally just Argos had the netbook for a lower price at £249.99 compared to £329.99 at Currys and PC World. Now the netbook is available from PC World and Currys for £239.99, even less than Argos. Unfortunately it’s not quite as simply as going in to the store and picking the NC10 up for that price. The companies have put a £70 reduction on the netbook but the other £20 saving, is claimed via redemption from Samsung. Still, if that doesn’t bother you, go ahead and pick the NC10 up from PC World or Currys for £259.99 and get £20 back.

The Samsung NC10 has proven to be very popular, which is now backed up by shipping numbers. Not surprisingly, the sleek netbook has shipped 1.5 million units worldwide since it’s release 8 months ago. The NC10 features the standard netbook specs, 10.2 inch display, 160GB HDD, 1GB of RAM etc but, at a slightly higher price in the UK. However when browsing the netbook display in my local PC World, the NC10 is still the netbook which stands out above the rest, so it isn’t surprising to see so many units shipped. It would be more interesting to see how many have actually been purchased though. Hopefully this figure will become public soon as well.

Over at Netbook News, they’ve spotted a netbook identical to the NC10 in China. The model of the netbook is ND10 and is practically identical to it’s predecessor the Nc10. Featuring a 10 inch display, along with N270 Intel Atom CPU. The main difference between the two netbooks however, is the ND10 doesn’t come loaded with an Operating System. Customers can either purchase XP to install on it, or stick with a free operating system like Linux, Ubuntu, Android, etc. With the NC10 being phased out and replaced with the N110, N310 and N510, it’s unlikely that this netbook will be spotted outside of China.

I’m pretty sure that Vodafone has already announced this mobile broadband/netbook package for the Samsung NC10 as early as April. Unless of course there is something new to the announcement.  But anyway, Vodafone UK is announcing the it will start offering the Samsung NC10 with built-in mobile broadband connectivity.

What this simply means is that you can get a free Samsung NC10 netbook if you agree to sign-up for a 24-month service contract that would cost you around £25 and would give you 1GB of data connectivity through Vodafone’s wireless services. You can also choose a higher bandwith of 3GB data if you are willing to pay £30 instead.

Vodafone will be installing VODAFONE SIM plus their mobile broadband software to those Samsung NC10 so you won’t need a USB modem to connect your Samsung NC10 to the web.

So, if you’re living somewhere in the UK, you might want to get this netbook/mobile internet bundle from Vodafone.  And if you do, you may want to get this sleek Vodafone Netbook bag which would cost you only £40, available vodafone.co.uk/ppq.

The Samsung NC10 is available now at the Vodafone online store.

A hack and instructions on how to perform it, show users how to add 3G into their Samsung NC10. The downside to the hack however is that you use the WiFi. The WiFi adapter is switched for a 3G modem instead. The hack is very easy to perform though and WiFi can be replaced with a USB WiFi dongle, giving you the best of both worlds, espcially if you find you use both a lot.

The hardest part is taking the case off and opening it up. Once inside the WiFi adapter can be popped out and replaced with the 3G modem. Additional modification could also be made on the netbook, to allow easy SIM swapping by making a small hole in the bottom and soldering the 3G modem in, as jkkmobile have done to a Dell Mini 9. You can view the steps here.

This will help achieve more sales of the Nc10 for Samsung, who have already sold over a million of them. Amazon.de have reduced the price of the NC10 in white, black, pink and blue. You can now pick up the white NC10 for 377.95 Euros or the black for 368.95 Euros. The blue NC10 can be purchased for less than the white model, at 374.95 Euros. Where as the pink version will set you back the most at 382.95 Euros.

Shipping is included in the prices above. Hopefully other countries will also see a price reduction on the NC10.

The popular, if not slightly overpriced for what it is, Samsung NC10 has reached over one million sales. The netbook, which is designed very stylishly, features the regular netbook specs, but at a slightly higher price of about £30 in the UK. The netbook has been in stores for 8 months now, starting in October 2008 and has finally reached 1 million sales. Asus and Acer may have already reached these points and more, while Samsung is more traditionally known for their TV and cellphones. One million is quite an achievement and it’s sure to be no time at all until the NC20, also by Samsung reaches that mark as well.

The folks at Notebook Italia was generous enough to inform us about their unboxing of the new Samsung N120 netbook. And they even have a video to make us all envy them for having laid their hands on this sleek looking netbook from Samsung.

To make it even more fun, they also managed to take a video comparing the Samsung N120 with its little brother the Samsung NC10 which was released by Vodafone in Italy not so long ago.

Aside from the videos, Netbook Italia also noted that the Samsung N120’s 2.1 Speaker System with a subwoofer and pair of satellite speakers makes its sound quality comparable with some portable DVD player.

The Samsung N120 also comes with a neoprene protective case which is more elsatic and thicker that the one included with the Samsung NC10.

They also noted that the chassis of the Samsung N120 is more subtle and deep but with the same 1024×600 resolution of the NC10. However the big difference lies in the netbooks’ screen, opaque screen matte for the Samsung NC10 while the N120 sports an opaque looking screen.

Performance-wise, both netbooks are equipped with the same Intel Atom N270 CPU and Mobile 945GSE chipset and GMA 950 integrated graphics.

Check out Netbook Italia for the high-definition videos unboxing the Samsung NC120 and comparing it with the Samsung NC10.

samsungnc10vodafone

Alright, AT&T is not the only mobile carrier who is offering a netbook as a bundle in their data plans. Vodafone joins AT&T with its own netbook bundle.  For Vodafone it’s the Samsung NC10 which will be available in either black or white design.

If you would recall, this is not the first time that Vodafone is offering a netbook bundle. Last year, it has offered some netbook packages including the Dell Mini Inspiron Mini 9 and the Eee PC 701.

Vodafone is also offering the Samsung NC10 either as contract free for 479 Euros.

So if you’re living somewhere in Italy where there is a Vodafone coverage, you might want to get this good deal for the Samsung NC10.
