As well as the Sony VAIO T13 ultrabook, Sony will also be releasing a smaller version of their T series ultrabook. The T13, as the model number suggests, comes with a 13 inch display, 13.3 inchs to be exact, while the T11 comes with an 11.6 inch screen.

Both the T11 and T13 feature the same specifications, or hardware choices. The only difference between the two models does appear to come down to screen size along, which should also give them different price points. Both Sony ultrabooks should be available in the UK from early June.

To recap, the T series ultrabooks feature 4GB RAM, Intel i3-2367M CPU, 32GB SSD and a 320GB hard drive, HDMI and VGA ports, USB 2.0 and 3.0, along with Bluetooth 4.0, an ethernet port and Wi-Fi.

If you consider yourself one of the many people who are currently longing for your very own Windows 8 tablet PC (a proper one, that is), then you want to keep your eyes peeled for what’s going to happen by September-October of this year. Because according to a report on the Chinese site DigiTimes, that is when companies like Asus, Acer, Samsung, Lenovo, and HP can be expected to launch their x86-based Windows 8 tablet PCs in the market. What exactly are they waiting for? Possibly perfection, but it’s also said that these same companies, along with several others like Samsung, Toshiba, and Sony, have plans to launch Windows 8 on ARM (WoA) offerings as well. We won’t be seeing any official releases for devices of that kind until early 2013, though. This is all according to the same unnamed source cited by DigiTimes in its report. The only thing that’s really sure at the moment is that you will still have time to save up for these babies for when they actually do get released in the market. Keep it here for updates.

The 15.5-inch VAIO SE series reviewed a month ago is also up for sale. It has 1080p display, Core i5-2430M processor, 4GB of RAM, 640 GB of hard drive (5,400 RPM), DVD burner amd 1920×1080 panel. The SE laptop will be up for only $1000. It has flaky trackpad and poor battery life (hence the $150 battery slice). The 14-inch C and E series are getting expanded to Sandy Bridge processor options. The F sand L series will come with Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum, Sound Forge Audio Studio amd ACID Music Studio pre-installed. The SA, L, F and E series are all getting speed upgrades as well as the pre-configured SB and Z series. The SB is also now available in red variant.

It is a new 15-inch model with rippled surface design.

It is a new model of Sony E series that has an unusual design. It is based on rippling surfaces. This notebook looks best in black. It is designed for a universal outlook and is made suitable for Internet and office use and as well as for watching videos or playing games in it.

COMPONENTS:

It has an Intel Core i32310M processor. This is an entry-level processor designed by Sandy Bridge generation. It is accompanied by 4 GB DDR3 RAM and a 500 GB hard drive. This notebook also has a dedicated graphics card by Nvidia, the Geforce 410M. This memory card has 1024 of video memory. It also has a 1.5-inch HD screen with a high glossy look that can display a resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels

STRUCTURE:

The honeycomb pattern of the model catches one’s attention immediately. If this model is help up to the light the surface shimmers because of its glossy look. But there is no question of fingerprints or dust marks on the body. The body is well built. The white display lid is easy to open. The big plus of this model is that the display stays in the desired position even if it is adjusted. Its base unit seems to be just a robust. It is also accompanied by a well built laptoo which matches the design of the notebook and also has recessed touch pad in the palm rest area.

It has four USB ports of 2.0 type. There are two ports for controlling external monitors, an HDMI and a VGA port as well on the left hand side. On the right hand side a DVD burner is placed for recording dual-layer media. It also has a RJ45 Gigabit LAN port, two audio ports and two cared readers as well on the front side.

KEYBOARD:

The keyboard takes the whole length of the keyboard and includes a separate number block. The keys are well spaced and easy to use. Typing on it is a very pleasant experience. Above the keyboard there are three special function keys. One activates the Quickweb while the laptop is switched off. The key named VAIO starts up the Media Gallery and the third one mared as Assist starts Vaio Care 6.4.

Below the keyboard is the touch pad. It supports multi-touch input and gestures. Working on the touch pad is convenient. Below the touch pad there are two muttons which represent the two mouse clicks.

Sony’s first Android tablets, the S1, are now officially named the Tablet S. The two tablets will be released within the first two weeks of September. These Sony Android tablets boasts a 9.4 inch screen with 1280×768 resolution. They come with Android 3.1 Honeycomb. The main feature of these tablet models is home entertainment integration. These babies have integrated IR blaster that can control home theater devices. Unfortunately, only the DLNA-compatible hardware syncs with these devices.

A front-facing 3-megapixel camera and a rear-facing 5 megapixel camera is attached in these tablets. Also wireless keyboard and dock and connector dongles are also built within these Android-based tablets. This tablet is also PlayStation certified, meaning, these tablets are game optimized aside from being a full-blown entertainment device. The price is uncertain but prepare for a high one.

You might think that the e-book reader price wars have already begun between Amazon and Barnes & Noble, but there’s another player in the field, and for it the game is just getting started. Another maker of e-book readers (and could perhaps be classified as a pioneer of the market itself), Sony has recently started slashing prices of several e-book readers that it has on sale. The price cuts differ across models and range from as low as $20 for the Pocket Edition Sony e-book reader to up to $60 for the Pocketbook 301 Sony e-book reader. What’s weird is that after all of the price cuts, Sony’s e-book readers still cost more than your average Kindle or Nook if their current prices are taken into consideration. And both of those alternatives also offer valid reasons to believe why Sony’s offerings aren’t exactly the best that you could buy for your money. Read on for more details about the Sony e-reader price cuts at the link below.

Over at CNET, the guys have got hold of Sony’s newest Vaio W model which is eco friendly. They report it looks almost exactly like the original Vaio W but, the case is made from recycled materials, 20% of which is from recycled CDs. The specs of the device remain the same apart from the CPU. Sony have replaced the Intel Atom N270 and now use the N450 CPU, which is more energy efficient.

As well as looking a lot like the original, CNET report that it also feels like the original as well. Which is a good thing, as it means the chassis is sturdy and has a crisp screen resolution. One thing that hasn’t changed though, which was a complaint in the original Vaio W, is that they keyboard feels cramped. The netbook is currently available for pre-order from Amazon for $479.99.
