Remember the Sotec/Onkyo branded netbook called C101? Well Akihabara News is reporting that Onkyo has just updated the said netbook with the DC101WP  and DC101BP which signifies the new colors white crystal and rich black.

Aside from the color change, Onkyo has also upgraded the netbook’s battery with a 11.1V and 4.4Ah which simply means that the said netbook can max out up to 5 hours of good usage.

No major changes on the netbooks specs though. You’d still get the Atom N270 CPU, 1GB RAM and 160GB HDD.

Sotec, the netbook maker who brought us the Hello Kitty Netbook not so long ago has upgraded their other netbook the C101 with a new netbook model – the Sotec (Onkyo) C102.

Although these three netbooks are almost similar in features and specs, except for the Hello Kitty Design of the C101K3W, the C102 also features WiFi N with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Draft 2.0. The netbook is also available in Platinum silver and Rich Black.

The limited edition Hello Kitty netbook has been given the unboxing treatment. Akihabara news received their sample Hello Kitty netbook today and have taken snaps of the packaging and removal of the netbook. The C101K3W is white with a Hello Kitty face carved into the side. SOTEC, a Japanese electronics company, is another player in the already saturated netbook market. The company is set to launch the SOTEC DC101, a 10.1-inch netbook on October 3 in Japan.

The SOTEC DC101 is another Atom-powered netbook and features the following specs and details:

  • 10.1-inch LCD LED back lighted screen (1024×600)
  • 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 120GB HDD
  • 1.3MP web camera
  • memory stick/MMC/SD slot
  • 3 USB ports
  • WiFi
  • Windows XP

The SOTEC DC101 will be availablein black or white color design. No words yet on pricing and release date.
