Looks like LG isn’t the only one wanting to ride on the 2010 World Cup bandwagon. If there’s an X140 World Cup Edition netbook, there’s also a Samsung N150 Plus Adidas Special Edition. And while LG didn’t do much to their “redesigned” netbook when they made it into a special edition version for this year’s upcoming World Cup, Samsung introduced a few small changes to the N150 with their special edition offering.

LG Electronics has just announced a special edition of their X140 netbook that goes well with the upcoming 2010 World Cup. Featuring similar but different designs on the outside just opposite of the LCD screen, the LG X140 World Cup Netbook edition is a model that LG is hoping will make it big with football fans around the world. It might look different from the older, original model, but inside it runs the exact same specs: 10.1-inch screen, Windows 7 Starter, Intel Atom Pinetrail processors, up to 9-cell batteries, etc. It will be available in black, white and hot pink. LG made no mention of the price and official release date of this netbook worldwide, though.

There’s a new and improved version of the Samsung NC10 available for pre-order on Amazon, and it sports a few minor improvements over the original that some users may see as enough to justify its $499 price. The new, special edition Samsung NC10, with product code 11PBK, touts a larger touchpad than the old NC10, a glossy screen, and a higher-capacity 6-cell battery for up to 9.4 hours of computing power. Amazon has this product exclusively, and they are shipping it for free for those who pre-order from its product page.
