The T91 netbook from Asus, featuring a touchscreen display, is available in a few countries now and JKK Mobile have got their hands on one of the machines. Instead of the usual unboxing photos, JKK have opted for a video presentation of the unboxing ceremony. As well as unboxing their new netbook, the video shows the netbook booting up, along with a look at the touch screen interface and responsiveness.
The netbook features an 8.9 inch touch screen display, Intel Atom Z520 CPU and runs Windows XP Home for it’s operating system. It also features a semi 3D graphics card, created by Asus themselves.
Folks in the UK who are looking to get hold of the first convertible netbook from Asus, featuring an 8.9 inch display, will have to wait even longer than what we previously reported. The Asus Eee PC T91 had already been delayed until the 22nd of June due to logistic problems. Netbookchoice have confirmed that the T91 will now not be available until late July. A date hasn’t been confirmed but Asus UK confirmed that the timeline was concrete and more delays are not likely. The convertible netbook is taking longer to be released in the UK as Asus want to be 100% happy with the product before shipping and touching up the interface.
Asus were due to release their Eee PC T91 tablet netbook in the UK prior to it’s release in the US, weeks ago. Unfortunately, Asus UK have explained that due to a “logistical mishap”, the release in the UK has been delayed as distribution has been affected. However, the issue is now sorted out and the Eee PC T91 will be available for purchase in the UK from the 22nd of June.
Whether distribution to the US has been affected is unclear and with an expected release there soon, we will be looking to Asus to clarify the situation and also to confirm the cost of the T91 on US shores.
Following on from the news that was reported yesterday telling us that the price for the new Asus Eee PC T91 in the UK will be £450 or roughly US$750 and will be available in the UK from ‘early July’, we can now advise any interested readers that the official US Asus product page for their new tablet netbook has gone live.
Asus have published the Eee PC T91 product page here although there is still no word on a definite US release date or US pricing details for the touchscreen netbook, that is the first from Asus to feature a touchscreen display that folds over the keyboard to enable use as a tablet PC.
Said to be on track for a release in the UK next month, the 9-inch touchscreen-equipped Asus Eee PC T91 has been caught in pictures yet again, this time by UK tech site Electric Pig. Looking at what the Eee PC T91 is now, before its official release, it appears as if Asus has nearly perfected the 9-inch form factor, and considering how good the Eee PC T91 looks as both a netbook and a convertible tablet, the 10-inch Eee PC T101 is bound to be better by leaps. If you are holding off buying any more netbooks before the Eee PC T91 and T101 from Asus, then maybe the latest Eee PC T91 hands-on pictures will be enough to tide you over. Hungry for more info about the upcoming Asus Eee PC T91? Luckily, we have some. Recently, this convertible touchscreen netbook got its first showing in the UK, and it was demonstrated to members of the press. Pocket-Lint was there to cover the event and while they didn’t get to do a full review of the said netbook, they did get to snap several photos and have made a gallery which the above embedded photo is taken from. Pocket-Lint mentioned that the Eee PC T91 could hit the UK by May for somewhere around £500 or about $690 USD. However, that information is not final yet, so we’ll have to wait for official word from Asus to confirm. In the meantime, head on down to see more photos of the Eee PC T91 via the link below.
