VIA Technologies and Chinese PC OEM Tsinghua Tongfang has are coming out with a netbook of their own called the Tongfan S1 netbook. Since this is in partnership with VIA, it is but logical that said netbook will not be powered by Intel’s Atom processor but a 1.6GHz VIA C7-M processor combined with the VIA VX700 chipset.

The Tongfang S1 netbook will have a 10.2-inch LCD screen, business card manager, portable hard drive with battery pack, a digital photo frame or DVD playback. In addition, said netbook would also have Wi-Fi and an optional GPS navigation.

The S1 netbook will have retail for around $583 and will be available in white, blue, pink, gold or black color. Release date in the China market is still unknown though.
