Realizing that the competition have gone ahead when it comes to making their netbooks boast of longer battery life, Toshiba did not want to be outdone and so boost their own UX Netbook with 10H usage time.

Yes folks, 10 long hours of continous usage for the Toshiba UX Netbook, or the Dynabook or the more popularly known Toshiba NB200.

Aside from the extended battery life, the Toshiba UX Netbook also features the usual N280 CPU, 10.1-inch LED backlight LCD, 1GB of RAM, 160GB of HDD.

Keep in mind that althought his may be a good deal, the only letdown that you can possibly find in the Toshiba UX netbook is its price which could reach up to $611.

We’ve already heard about these two new netbooks from Toshiba and Fujitsu as early as two months ago. But it is only now that both companies are launching their new netbooks in Taiwan.

Toshiba recently announced the NB200, the company’s first 10-inch netbook boasting of an Intel Atom N280 CPU, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and Windows XP. The Toshiba NB200 will hit the streets of Taiwan with a price tag of around $651.

At the same time, Fujitsu has also announced its new M2010 netbook. Again, a 10-inch netbook touting Intel Atom N270 processor, 945GSE Chipset and with a price point of NT$17,800.

Japan-based PC vendors Toshiba and Fujitsu both unveiled their latest 10.1-inch netbooks in Taiwan recently.

And Portable Monkey just got their hands on with one unit straight from Japan where the NB200 is currently on sale right now.

And the highlights of their first impressions on the Toshiba NB200 are s follows:

great build quality and design

exquisite gold metallic hinges

nice chickeley-style keyboard (like the Eee PC 1000HE)

smooth trackpad (best netbook trackpad so far)

lightweight with 3-cell battery

small powerbrick

It doesn’t say much about performance and other issues when the netbook is in use. But if you trust Toshiba’s PC products, and would go for style and design in your next netbook purchase, seems like the Toshiba NB200 aka Dynabox UX is quite a good choice.

And while we are all agog by the promise of long battery life from most of the netbooks that coming out lately, Toshiba wants to beat them all with a whooping 9 hours of full usage for its NB200.

But aside from its battery life, all the other specs of the Toshiba NB200 point to the fact that it is still is your regular 10-inch netbook fare.

Let’s see, 10-inch widescreen LED-backlight display, 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 or 1.66GHz N280 CPUs, 160GB HDD, 0.3MP webcam, Bluetooth, WiFi, and Windows XP.

You’ll also get a full size tiled keyboard, integrated mobile broadband, extra large touchpad, and wireless LAN.

Over and above this specs is a 3D-accelerometer monitoring system that protects the netbook’s HDD from loss of data while monitoring freefalls, shocks and vibrations.
