The MSI Wind U120 and Asus Eee PC 1000H are both fine ol’ netbooks, but some people just have to see the two side by side, in the flesh, before they can finally decide which to get between the two. Well, we won’t be able to warp you to some place where these two netbooks reside at the same time, but we do know a place where you can at least see them in pictures. It’s called the Internet. These photos, showing the Asus Eee PC 1000H beside an MSI Wind U120, may be the closest you’ll ever get to seeing the two netbooks together (next to your local computer store, that is). See the rest of the Asus Eee PC 1000H and MSI Wind U120 comparison photos in the site linked below.

If you want to know how well the MSI Wind U120 performs in real life before you decide to buy it, look no further than LaptopMag and its review of the said netbook. LaptopMag was unbiased throughout their review, but regular readers would probably already know that by now. Their verdict on the MSI Wind U120 is as follows:

The MSI Wind U120 is a solid netbook with a comfortable keyboard and a more stylish design than its predecessor. It’s also more aggressively priced. At $379, the U120 costs $70 less than the U100. However, the older U100 lasts 45 minutes longer on a charge, and both the Samsung NC10 ($449) and the HP Mini 2140 ($529) last more than 2 hours longer, although both systems are more expensive. If you care more about price than endurance, then the U120 is worth considering.

We’ve already known that MSI is prepping its MSI Wind 2 models and it’s projected delivered date was previously reported to be in December. We also knew from previous reports that it will have a built-in 3G module, 1GB of RAM, 120GB of HDD and will run on Windows XP.

But since, Asustek is already prepping up its own premier netbook, the Eee PC S101, this might have prompted MSI to release their second generation MSI Wind to as early as November. The said MSI Wind U120 shall retail for around $552.

In a related report, MSI was said to have no plans of coming up with their own touchscreen MSI Wind despite rumors that Asus is planning to come up with touchscreen versions of the Eee PC. This is due to the high cost of making such netbooks.

For MSI Wind fans who have been anticipating the release of the MSI Wind 2 since information about it started to surface a couple of days ago, Fudzilla managed to score exclusive photos of the said netbook in all its detailed glory.

According to Fudzilla’s exlusive report, the MSI Wind 2 would still sport a 10-inch screen although the design will be more formal than the previous MSI Wind models. Nothing much would really be changed with the Wind 2 in terms of features and specs. Some of these specs include:

10-inch display

120GB HDD with 20-40GB of SSD to follow later

Intel Atom CPU similar to the Wind U100

WiFi

built-in 3G model with SIM card slot

$600

The MSI Wind 2 is slated for release sometime in December. Head on to Fudzilla for more high-res photos of the MSI Wind 2.

MSI, the producer of the popular Wind U100 netbook, have announced that they will also be producing the Wind U120 within the upcoming months, according to an interview with the head of sales at MSI in Laptop Magazine.

Unlike the Wind U100, the U120 will be capable of supporting 3.5G wireless networking. The U120 will share the screen size of 10 inches with it’s older sibling. Storage will be covered with a hard drive (of between 20 and 40 gb’s according to the interview) as opposed to SSD however, MSI will provide SSD in the future. Further details are sketchy but, this is exciting news from MSI and their new netbook is expected to cost under $600 on release although, details arent confirmed yet.
