We recently reported that the very popular NC10 by Samsung had been spotted for 299 Euros, down from 375 Euros. This time round, it’s the UK’s turn to see the netbook reduced.
Originally just Argos had the netbook for a lower price at £249.99 compared to £329.99 at Currys and PC World. Now the netbook is available from PC World and Currys for £239.99, even less than Argos. Unfortunately it’s not quite as simply as going in to the store and picking the NC10 up for that price. The companies have put a £70 reduction on the netbook but the other £20 saving, is claimed via redemption from Samsung. Still, if that doesn’t bother you, go ahead and pick the NC10 up from PC World or Currys for £259.99 and get £20 back.

The Sony VAIO W11S1E was previously available from PC World in the UK for delivery only. Collection from store wasn’t possible and now ordering it, isn’t at all. Not from PC World anyway. Those following the direct link to the 10 inch netbook from Sony will find themselves redirected to the netbook page, with no sign of any Sony netbook in sight.
It is however, still available from Amazon.co.uk. All color models are still currently in stock from £330.

Said to be on track for a release in the UK next month, the 9-inch touchscreen-equipped Asus Eee PC T91 has been caught in pictures yet again, this time by UK tech site Electric Pig. Looking at what the Eee PC T91 is now, before its official release, it appears as if Asus has nearly perfected the 9-inch form factor, and considering how good the Eee PC T91 looks as both a netbook and a convertible tablet, the 10-inch Eee PC T101 is bound to be better by leaps. If you are holding off buying any more netbooks before the Eee PC T91 and T101 from Asus, then maybe the latest Eee PC T91 hands-on pictures will be enough to tide you over. See them all at the link below.

Yet another company has delved into the netbook market and this time it’s UK manufacturer The Stone Group. The Stone Group will launch their Stone Neo 101 from the start of May in the UK for around £316 including VAT.
The Stone Neo 101 comes with the specs you’d find on most netbooks for that price including 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, Intel Atom processor and a 10.1 inch display. It will also feature a 1.3 megapixel web camera, WiFi, option of adding 3G support and a 4 cell battery. Unlike other netbooks on the market though, the Neo 101 comes with a 3 year warranty, making it cheaper than many other netbooks with extended warranties.

Another week, another “small” company adds a netbook to their computer line up. This time round it’s Zoostorm, a UK computer manufacturer, who are releasing their Freedom netbook. The Freedom doesn’t follow the usual specifications of a 10 inch screen and 1GB of RAM, but will instead feature a 8.9 inch screen and half the RAM of your usual netbook, coming in at 512mb.
Other features on the Freedom include a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 8GB of flash memory, Wifi, web cam and will run Windows XP. The battery life is said to last for 4.5 hours. The netbook is available to buy from PC Nextday for £241.61.

Hungry for more info about the upcoming Asus Eee PC T91? Luckily, we have some. Recently, this convertible touchscreen netbook got its first showing in the UK, and it was demonstrated to members of the press. Pocket-Lint was there to cover the event and while they didn’t get to do a full review of the said netbook, they did get to snap several photos and have made a gallery which the above embedded photo is taken from. Pocket-Lint mentioned that the Eee PC T91 could hit the UK by May for somewhere around £500 or about $690 USD. However, that information is not final yet, so we’ll have to wait for official word from Asus to confirm. In the meantime, head on down to see more photos of the Eee PC T91 via the link below.

In total, O2 UK will give customers a choice between three laptops, but these only come in two models. The basic data plan comes with 3GB of download and costs £30 per month, with which either the Samsung NC10 or R510 can be availed for free. A £40 per month plan is also available and gives 10GB download, and both plans last two years on contract. So if you’ve been waiting for these deals ever since they were first announced, don’t be left out and contact your nearest O2 branch now.
