Acer was pretty successful in competing against the Eee PC with the Aspire one. And it is about to challenge Asus anew with the upcoming 10-inch Aspire One which will go up against Eee PC 1000 series. What it lacks so far is a product that will compete directly with Asus’ Eee Top. Until now, as Acer announced that it will soon be releasing the ZX2300 all-in-one PC.

Actually, the ZX2300 is an all-in-one PC made by Gateway, a company which Acer recently bought. So, when it goes up against the Eee Top, it’s simply again a battle between Acer and Asus.

Anyway, enough of the rivalry stuff and let’s see what the Acer/Gateway has to offer us.

• USB ports
• WiFi
• webcam,

• 16x Lightscribe DVD burner.

Unfortunately, the ZX2300′s LCD is not touchscreen. And it will sell for around $530. If you’re not really looking forward to the touchscreen features of the Eee Top, and would rather have a bigger screen, then you’d be better off with the ZX2300.
