I’ve got to give credit to Liliputing for coming up with the comprehensive list of Ultraportables, right when we’re in the middle of compiling my own list for this graphical Round Up. That saves me a lot of time searching for past post coverage, each of the product’s sites to get the basic details of these tiny portables.
So here goes a comprehensive list of 8 7-inch ultraportables which are either released or soon to be released in the market. Hope it helps you decide which one will give you value for your hard earned bucks. You may want to click on the thumbnail image to get a better view of the chart.

Several things could be done to improve this table.
- CPU clock speed is not useful without CPU model, because for example Celeron M at 630MHz outperforms VIA C7 at 1.2GHz.
- When a model has optional features or different sub-models have different amounts of RAM, listing just one price is meaningless – list a range instead. Conversely, the Kojinsha has a price range listed and yet I don’t know why – none of its specs seem like they could imply multiple models.
- Specify whether the hard drive is SSD or HDD. It can make a big difference in performance and price.
- For each box that has a question mark, do the research and find out if it has it or not. If the unit has a price, then they’ve listed specs. If they are yet to decide on specs, then they won’t have listed a price (if the price is an estimate, say so).
- Don’t expect me to convert kg and lb in my head – list the weights all in the same units, or both.
You may also want to consider including 8.9″ laptops in it – the Eee 900 is out, for example.
Once you’ve done this, I’m sure a forum such as eeeuser.com would love to see the chart.
