At a recent news conference, Chairman of Asustek Jonney Shih said that about 60% of the Eee PCs shipped in 2008 will be preloaded Windows XP.
The Eee PC’s success in Europe, Asia Pacific and China makes it an attractive way for Microsoft to reach a larger market, and analysts feel that Asus will better tap the computer market if it caters directly to Windows users.
Even though Windows XP will drive the price tag up to around $390 to $400 for the cheapest models, it will still present a viable, cheaper option to consumers.
Two things about their strategy make me particularly happy:
1) They are still marketing it with Xandros, albeit on fewer of the models.
2) They have chosen to preload it with the tried and tested Windows XP, instead of its younger, fletchling sibling, Windows Vista.

I’m not surprise at this report because XP has been dominating the world of PC since it has been launched. I don’t think that other operating system will ever beat them. If must have been because of Microsoft’s advertising power. We all know that Microsoft isn’t the best software company but they have dominated the software world because of how they market.
I wouldn’t doubt that, windows is still the most user friendly OS out in the market specifically windows XP. A lot of business and Home users are already used to it and only a few knows how to use Linux based OS.
