The Mesa Rugged Pad Is The Toughest Tablet On The Block

Do you have clumsy fingers? If so, they’re not probably a big help in your search for the perfect tablet. The tablet boom is a great thing but facing the prospect of dropping a very expensive piece of computer hardware is a bummer. Well, here’s a solution from Juniper Systems. The Missouri-based tech company is about to release the Mesa Rugged Pad – probably the toughest tablet PC that will be on the market. The thing is water-proof, dust-proof and can suffer four-foot drops on to concrete – it also can withstand heat of up to 122 degrees fahrenheit.
As for technical features, it’s a bit on the low side. Powered by Intel PXA320 806MHz processor and running Windows Mobile as its OS, it comes with 4GB ROM, 256MB RAM, USB ports, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G and a 3.2MP camera. The batteries are a bit interesting – promising up to 16 hours of continued use with swappable batteries.
If you really need to use a tablet in the outdoors of on a hike, this is the one to buy when it comes out. No release date or prices yet, but expect them soon.
