The Upcoming Nook 8GB Tablet On Feb 22nd
The Nook Tablet from Barnes and Noble is intending to launch a new tablet with a much lower price than its predecessor this month. This new tablet aims to compete with the successful Amazon Kindle Fire, which currently ranks as the second most popular tablet in the market today since its launch last year.
Essentially, the Nook tablet and the Amazon Kindle Fire are target the same demographic: budget-conscious Android users with a penchant for reading eBooks, which is why the Nook is bent on attracting some of the possible Kindle consumers.
The new Nook tablet will likely come equipped with 8GB of storage, like the Kindle Fire. The original Nook tablet had a retail price of $249 with 16 GB storage capacity, 13 GB of which are for user content, and 12 GB for exclusive Barnes and Noble content.
It came equipped with a 7-inch VividView Color Touchscreen, 1GHz TI OMAP4 dual core processor, 1GB RAM. As well as it has several pre-loaded apps such as Hulu Plus, Pandora Internet Radio, Netflix, NOOK Friends, E-mail, Chess, Sudoku, Crossword and Media Gallery.
Meanwhile, the specifications for the new Nook tablet are currently unavailable, although it might have similar ones with the Kindle Fire’s.
Interested buyers may avail of the Nook tablet starting February 22nd from Walmart.
