The X10 MID Is Decent For A Windows CE Tablet

Not to be confusedd with the Viliv X10, the X10 MID is a cheap mobile Internet device from our friends in China. Running on the Windows CE platform, it may not exactly be top-of-the-line but it manages to do well for its limitations. The biggest reason you’re probably buying this is the fact that it’s cheap; the current price is $179.99 – which includes international shipping.

When you get your hands on it, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. Hardware-wise, it performs well, with a bright and responsive touch screen and it surfs the net dependably. However, you’re limited to just 18 apps and don’t have a preloaded e-book reader installed. The GPS works nicely, but you’ll sometimes experience a bit of a slow down. It’s also locked into one view mode – landscape only and no portrait mode; a problem if you want to hold it differently. It also doesn’t have a hard copy of the manual – however, there’s a download available on the service site. Other than that, you’re on your own.

Still, you get what you pay for and for $180, you’re getting a no-frills, usable tablet device that can connect to the Internet.
