There Will Be No New Netbooks from Acer and Asus Until Next Year
Let’s see, what’s the latest Eee PC Asus recently? 1005HA, 1008HA, 1004DN? How about Acer? – the Timeline perhaps? Well, quite frankly it has already gone a bit confusing for us netbook lovers – what with all these new models Eee PC and Aspire One. Thankfully, both Asus and Acer will not be releasing new models of their respective netbooks – for now.
According to Digitimes, both companies might be waiting for the release of Intel’s new Pine Trail-M platform which is scheduled sometime around 1st quarter of 2010.
So, what are these two companies going to do for the rest of the year? Focus on ultra-thin notebooks instead.
But still, we’ve got some new netbooks to watch out for, specifically the Eee PC T91, 101 as well as the Android-based netbook which was already announced for a second half release.
After that, I guess we will all have to wait for the Q2 of 2010 before we get to see more new netbooks coming our way. But this is only for Asus and Acer and does not cover other netbook manufacturers.
