In Canada, the RBC Royal Canadian Bank gives out a free 2GB Eee PC 701 Surf when you open a checking account, with the following conditions:
Limit one Eee PC per client, per account. Eee PC will be sent to the primary account holder only. Cannot be combined with any other offer. Limited time offer while quantities last. Account and card must be open & active until Dec. 31, 2008.
I guess that beats the Philippine telcos promotions for the 2GB Eee PC Surf models. Globe Philippines, one of the major telecommunications provider in the Philippines bundles the Eee PC Surf with a DSL connection and a landline phone for around $35/month subscription subject to a 24 months lock-in period. That means you can’t discontinue your subscription after getting the Eee PC.
Smart Philippines, another telecommunications provider also offers the Eee PC, this time as a bundle to one of their service plans which is is also around $35-$40 monthly, subjec to the same lock-in period. But instead of getting a DSL connection, you’d get a free phone plus the Eee PC 2GB Surf.

So, anyone else notice of similar promotional blitz for the Eee PC? Please leave a comment.
