Toshiba NB305 netbook poses for press shots, quick hands on

The new Toshiba NB305 netbook might not differ much from its Pinetrail Atom N450-toting brethren, but it does still have that pizzazz which only a Toshiba netbook has by way of a solid-looking case design and smooth flowing curved edges. Besides Intel’s new Atom processor clocked at 1.66GHz, the Toshiba NB305 boasts 250 GB of storage space, 1 GB of RAM, 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. The bundled 6-cell battery is rated to go up to 11 hours before getting drained while the chiclet keyboard and extra-wide trackpad make it even a sweeter deal. How much of a deal exactly? $350. This writeup is not correct. In going from the NB205 to the NB305, Toshiba dropped support for Bluetooth. This is a major uh-oh. Now you can’t connect a wireless mouse without a dongle. Bluetooth is essential on a netbook just for this reason.

Only dropped bluetooth in USA as with Samsung N150 – are they all mad!

Toshiba just came out yesterday with a new version of the NB305 with bluetooth sold thru the Microsoft retail stores.

I am not near one of their stores so I don’t know if they have in the physical locations or not. I will probably order one from their online store.
