Toshiba Officially Launched its Folio 100 Tablet, Another iPad Competitor

Another iPad-competitor has been officially announced during the IFA 2010 event in Berlin. This is aside from the Samsung Galaxy Tab. And this time it’s the Toshiba Folio 100 which has also been getting its share of pre-release buzz and hype.

So, how different is the Toshiba Folio 100 from the iPad and the rest of the tablet device crowd? Well, for one thing it’s also running Android OS 2.2 which makes it a Flash-capable device unlike the iPad. The Toshiba Folio 100 also features a 10.1-inch capacitive multitouch screen with 1024×600 resolution, NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, 1.3MP webcam, DLNA media sharing, USB slot and SD/MMC card reader. Again some features which are not present in the iPad.

With powerful features,  what will separate the Toshiba Folio 100 from the iPad and the other tablet device is the price point then. Unfortunately, news has it that the Toshiba Folio 100 will have a $500 price point. Now, that could be a deal breaker since you can have the 16GB iPad for almost the same price.
