Toshiba Soon to Ship its DB50 Android-based eReader
Toshiba’s new eReader called the DB50 will be released in Japan soon. Outfitting a 7-inch color LED backlight screen with WSVGA 1024 x 600-pixel resolution, the DB50 has sort of outstanding features you would expect from a budget entry-level tablet at the moment.
It has a 1 GHz Freescale i.MX535 processor under the hood as well as Wi-Fi bgn support, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB 2.0 port and a microSD card slot as well. The internal storage cpacity is far from ideal, with just 8 GB of internal memory to be used, though it can still be expanded. As for the operating system, it seems that it will run on customized Android 2.3 version. It weighs at 330 grams, and will be provided access to Toshiba’s BookPlace store that contains over 50,000 books and other magazines.
The Toshiba DB50 Android eBook reader is said to cost 22,000 Yen or around 285 US Dollars and will be launched on February 10th.
