Toshiba Thrive Rolling Out Android 4.0 Update in June
Owners of the Toshiba Thrive tablet may finally be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update this spring. Toshiba, however, hasn’t released any particular date, so users should allow for some leeway regarding this update.
Prior to this, many tablet manufacturers have already updated to the latest version of the operating system and Toshiba may be considered a latecomer. Still, the update is better late than never for users of the Toshiba Thrive.
The update is set to roll out for both version of the Toshiba Thrive, the 7-inch and 10-inch versions, both of which run on Android Honeycomb 3.2
Currently, the Toshiba Thrive 10-inch tablet features a high-resolution wide-view LED-backlit display, NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, and NVIDIA GeForce GPU. It can also be encased in a slip-resistant, rubberized Easy Grip surface in a variety of colors.
It also has ports for mini USB, full size USB 2.0, full size HDMI port, and an SD card slot. There are also several sensors including a gyroscope, e-compass, accelerometer, and GPS. It is likewise capable of 4G Mobile Broadband. Dual cameras also come with the tablet, with a 2 MP one at the front, and a 5 MP one at the back. The 7-inch tablet has similar specifications except for the display size.
These ICS update will surely enhance the specifications of the tablets.
