Toshiba Unveils Satellite P Multimedia Notebooks

Toshiba may not have revealed the prices of its newest multimedia laptops, but it did disclose more or less everything else in its Satellite P series. In fact, there are four models in this series with LCD. Two of them measure 15.6 inches in diagonal and are named Satellite P850 and the Satellite P855, while the other two, the Satellite P875 and Satellite P870 monikers sport 17.3-inch panels. Nevertheless, what is more outstanding is that, one model on both screen sizes has a regular Full HD panel, while the other offers glasses-free 3D.

Toshiba chose Intel’s Sandy bridge generation CPUs, backed by an unspecified, but surely considerable, amount of DDR3 RAM. An NVIDIA discrete GPU handles the graphics, while a hard drive unit offers up to 1 TB of storage space, plus 8GB of NAND storage in case it is a hybrid. Furthermore, the company tossed in a DVD Super Multi drive as well as the option to get a Blu-ray drive instead.

The list of specifications goes on with Gigabit Ethernet, a Full HD web camera with Face Recognition, backlit tiled keyboard, Harman Kardon speakers and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless support, plus Wi-Fi.

Lastly, the Satellite P notebooks have HDMI outputs, four USB 3.0 ports each and Wi-Fi with Intel Wireless Display (WiDi) video streaming. Sales will begin in the second quarter of 2012, for prices that have yet to be disclosed.
