Now.. granted it could have happened because of my something I might have done wrong.... but the reason that I am angry at ASUS is the lack of support that I got from them. I called a total of three times and the first 2 times they really did not know how to help me... they said that they will escalate the problem to a higher level tech. Next day I had not received a call back.. I called myself and was told by another tech to try to go into Recovery mode by pressing F9. We tried like 10 different times... by pressing f9, Shift f9, Right shift f9, etc. She came to the conclusion my computer could go into Recovery mode and since the issue was MALICIOUS SOFTWARE, the warranty did not cover that. I said, fine, but the fact that your pc does not got into recovery mode.. Shouldn't that be covered by your warranty... and she just dismissively said no.. that not all computer might be able to go into recovery mode. She said, you have to run recovery mode from the CD provided... but wait.... these netbooks dont have cd/dvd roms... so in order to run cd/dvd i would have to buy an external drive, I check and they run from $40 to $80. so.. bottom line the computer should be able to go into recovery mode, but the fact that this one doesn't , its not their problem. Today is January 8th, and my daughter has not been able to play with her netbook yet. Disappointed with ASUS big time.
