I'm sorry to say that the ume-launcher makes it unusable on this model. The mouse cannot move smoothly, all the launcher animations are sluggish and jittery and it's just plain frustrating, Although when I open up an app, and the ume-launcher fades into the background, then Ubuntu runs fine. I was very disappointed, I really liked the NBR theme, I thought it was a lot better than eeebuntu, although eeebuntu runs just fine even with the launcher, so am forced to stick with that. peace I just gave 9.04 NBR a go on the 4g 7″ version. I really want to get a eee pc 1000h with Ubuntu 9.04 NBR, but I've had a bad experience after having to try and get/keep WPA2 wireless connections using Network-Manager ( and lots of other Gone_with-the Wind style sagas where I could n't seem to get WICD going as a replacement for N-M).
