Velocity Micro, a popular boutique PC maker also announced a new netbook for its product line – the NoteMagix M10.  Expected to start shipping by Spring for an SRP of $379, the NoteMagix M10 will have the following features:

  • 10.1-inch screen
  • Intel Atom processor
  • Windows XP
  • 1GB RAM
  • 160GB HD
  • 3 USB ports
  • 3-in-1 media card reader
  • 1.3 megapixel webcam
  • VGA and audio outputs
  • Wi-Fi
  • 2.6 pounds
  • 4 cell-battery (up to 5 hours usage time)

The NoteMagix M10 seems like your ordinary 10-inch netbook with all the stardard features but then you got to take a second look at its price which I think is pretty cheap for a 10-inch netbook with Atom processor. Plus of course all the other specs.

Hopefully, Velocity Micro will release some more information about the NoteMagix 10 before Spring arrives. Specifically regarding its design and form factor.

  3. I BOUGHT THIS NEW FOR $250 AND FOR THE PRICE IT’S GREAT!!! THE BATTERY IS ABOUT 2 1/2 TO MAYBE 3 HOURS. I WAS VERY FRUSTRATED IN THE BEGINNING CUZ IT HAS SOME HOTKEY APPLICATION THAT KEEPS THE WIRELESS FUNCTION DISABLED AND WON’T WORK. AS A RESULT, I THOUGHT THAT THE COMPUTER WAS MALFUNCTIONED AND THE HANDBOOK DOES NOT STATE THAT YOU MUST ENABLE THIS FUNCTION AS A MEANS TO TURN THE WIRELESS ON. UNTIL THIS IS ENABLED, WIRELESS WON’T WORK, AND I WAS SO FRUSTRATED THAT I FELT LIKE THROWING THE DARN THING AGAINST THE WALL. AND YES, EVERY TIME THE COMPUTER SHUTS OFF, THE WIRELESS IS DISABLED. SO WHEN I FIGURED IT OUT, THE LIL’ NETBOOK IS AS CUTE AS A BUTTON. IN CONCLUSION, I WILL SAY THAT IT’S NOT WORTH ANYTHING OVER $350, BUT FOR WHAT I PAID FOR IT BEING A NEW , I’M WELL SATISFIED. I WILL JUST HAVE TO SEE IF I GET A FEW YEARS OUT OF THIS MACHINE.
