Velocity Micro Cruz T508 is An 8-inch Android ICS Tablet

A new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich called the Velocity Micro Cruz T508 is making its way to stores soon. The device comes with an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and an aspect ratio of 4:3.

Inside, it runs on a Allwinner A10 ARM 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor and comes with 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 8 GB of built-in storage capacity. Users needing more of the latter may simply use a microSD card to expand it memory. Its graphics, meanwhile is powered by a Dual Mali-400 2D/3D Core graphics processor.

Moreover, the tablet is equipped with a front-facing and a rear-facing camera, and supports Adoble Flash Player 11. 802.11n Wi-Fi is the connectivity of choice on the device. Bluetooth, unfortunately, is not available on the tablet. Its collection of ports include a 3.5mm Headphone Jack, Micro USB, Mini HDMI, and micro SD.

Its manufacturer has included many preinstalled apps, which may be seen as a convenience to some, or just bloatware to others. The list of apps include Amazon Appstore for Android, Browser, Amazon MP3, Games Suite, Music, People, Youtube, Twitter, Inkpad, Angry Birds Space, Quickoffice Pro, Speech Recorder, among others.

At present, Velocity Micro has not revealed an expected launch date or the possible price of the tablet. For the device to succeed, however, it should offer a competitive price with the likes of the Google Nexus 7 tablet.
