VIA gives us a tiny nettop to play with
Processor maker VIA introduces a Pico-ITX inspired package in the ARTiGO A1100 nettop.
ARTiGO A1100
- 1.2GHz VIA Nano with VX855
- 2.5″ HDD bay
- DDR2 RAM compatible
- no OS
- 802.11b/g WiFi (optional), Ethernet
- 5 x USB, 3 x audio ports, HDMI, card reader
- 5.7″ x 3.9″ x 2.0″
- Weight: 0.59kg
For US$243, you get a barebones mini PC that should do well for a living room, kitchen or car computer. Don’t expect this to handle any heavy work very well. It’s pretty light though, you can probably stick it behind an LCD display no problem.
What VIA left out are the RAM, hard drive and operating system which you should be able to get on your own. If you want one, just grab it from VIA’s store.
