Windows 7 Compared with XP on an Eee PC 1005HA

So you got the Release Candidate of Microsoft’s upcoming OS Windows 7 but still couldn’t decide whether it will improve your Eee PC’s performance? Well, LegitReviews’ comparison between the performance of Windows 7 vs Windows XP running on an Eee PC 1005HA might help you decide.

Before we give you the test’s final verdict, it would be interesting to note the result of the test on the 1005HA’s battery life when running Windows 7 and XP.

With Intel GMA Graphics driver and Asus ACPI driver installed, monitor settings at 50% brightness, the test showed that Windows 7 lasted 9 minutes shorter than Windows XP at idle condition while both lasted at the same time when in use. When playing video or movie, the Eee PC 1005HA with Windows XP lasted 26 minutes longer than that of the 1005HA runing Windows 7.

As for the reviews’ final verdict – Windows 7 even on its RC form can run effectively and efficiently on a netbook. The Asus 1005HA scred a 2.2 on the Windows Experience Index’s graphics test.
