French company Surcouf’s foray into the low-cost portable PC genre maybe a little bit late, but since the UMPC

market is still young, the door is still open for another one of ‘em ultraportable PCs. So, from France, let’s all welcome Surcouf’s La Revolution Mobile PC. To be released in gold and white cases, the Surcouf UMPC will ship sometime in May and June for a retail price of around $624. For that amount, you’ll get the following features:

  • Processor VIA C 7 (1.2 GHz)
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 60 Go Hard Drive
  • 7″ wvga  screen
  • WiFi / Bluetooth
  • Windows XP OS

  1. That is the fugliest UMPC I have seen yet. I wonder what the hell that thing on the right of the screen is taking up all that valuable space. If it’s a speaker then that’s just plan dumb.
