Zotac brings back the build-your-own desktop experience to nettops

Building a desktop from scratch was one of joys of early computing where you can both save money by not buying a pre-built model and you could actually customize your unit and learn something in the process. Zotac wants to give the same options with the Zotac Zbox HD-ID11 nettop.

Zotac Zbox HD ID-11

  • 1.66GHz Intel Atom D510
  • NVIDIA ION 2 GPU
  • 1 x SODIMM RAM slot
  • 2.5″ drive bay
  • no OS
  • 802.11b/g/n WiFi, LAN
  • 6 x USB, audio jacks, HDMI and DVI ports, eSATA port, card reader

It also comes with a VESA mount, a DVI-to-VGA adapter and stand. You can put in your own hard drive, RAM and operating system in it and it’s screwless design makes for easy installation.

Personally, I’ve been wanting one of these types of nettops for a while and now it’s available. The bundled in ION 2 GPU and eSATA ports are great additions as well. Grab it for just US$209.99.
