ZTE Light Tab 2 Android Tablet Knocks the UK Market
The China-based corporation ZTE is currently planning to launch their new tablet PC in the UK market. The device is variously called the Light Tab 2 or the V9A.
ZTE will most likely partner with the retail store Clove to be able to distribute the device in the region. Initially, it appeared that the new slate will be simply a redesign of another model called the ZTE Optik. However, the ZTE Light Tab 2 sports different features.
For instance, the ZTE Light Tab 2 is equipped with a 1.4 GHz single-core processor instead of the Optik’s 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Both devices, however feature 7-inch screens. There are also two cameras on both slates, one with 0.3 MP in front, and one with 3.2 MP facing the rear.
The operating system of choice is Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will have a 3,400mAh battery. Users also have the option between Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity.
Among its possible competition are the Samsung Galaxy Tab and tablet PCs from Archos, Lenovo, HTC and Viewsonic. It is expected that the ZTE Light Tab 2 or V9A will hit stores around February, probably during Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress. The slate will sell for £234.99, including taxes, or around $365.
